PSE&G will be working throughout the day and overnight until 7 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 26 for repairs, they said.
“Although the road is closed, NJ Transit traffic will still be permitted through to access the Walter Rand Transportation Center,” said Commissioner Al Dyer, liaison to the Department of Public Works.
The transportation center is served by River Line, New Jersey Transit buses and Greyhound intercity buses and also includes the Broadway station of the PATCO Speedline.
There were no widespread power outages reported.
"Motorists should seek alternate routes and give themselves plenty of time to get to their destinations," Dyer said.
